And now he waits......

Dig this!
It's Mr. "I'm not going to be sliding down the roof top in the wind and the snow and the cold this year"!
"Mr. Please don't make me do this ever again"
"Mr. we don't need lights"!
"Mr. who cares?"
"Mr. Bah Humbug on the light thing"!

Even though it is only UEA, Christmas is fastly approaching and every store in America has it's decorations out and it's not even Halloween yet.
Yeah, it's early, so what?

At least Layton is prepared!

And so now he waits...

waits until that glorious, wonderful, exciting day that comes only once a year.
That day when all human existence has left their beds and ventured out of their comfort zones to witness the treasures of the season.
The one day of the year that says, " Christmas!"
The day when children are joyous because they know that this is their reason for living!
The day when parents return to their childhood and forget the worries of the tsunami of bills that will face them after the packages have been tossed to and fro.
That one special day that says, "Bring it on world, we can laugh in the face of your woes .
NO, I am not talking about Dec. 25Th.
Yes, my friends, I am talking about the ever famous, ever eternal, "Day after Thanksgiving" when we witness the beginnings of the season of people who "loose their minds" in frantic "gotta have it" mentality and push and shove their way to the front of the infamous line in the decked out halls of Walmart and Target!
Aah, that is what he is waiting for because on that day, the ONE Day, Layton will sleep in, eat a leftover turkey sandwich on a homemade roll, roll his eyes at "idiots" who are running to the stores and are unprepared for the season celebration, then pause the TVO of one of the 14 football games that will be playing in the background and stroll over quietly to the light switch in the front entry hall, and with the delicate care of touching a new born baby's soft fuzzy head, he will gently push the outside light switch button to ON! Oh the JOY he will have when he illuminates our home with a flick of a switch! What satisfaction he will have to know that, even tho the neighbors laughed and pointed and scoffed at him from behind the curtains of their living room windows in October, he is the one laughing now! His strategy is justified!
So you see, after 3 trips to home depot, several strands that worked when he took them down last year but didn't work for some reason this year, all of the kicking and screaming and gnashing of teeth will be worth it for that one incredible day when he illuminates our home with several hundred white bulbs that he precariously hand -placed....
and so he waits......
