Next, at the evening banquet, they were doing more door prizes and nothing was sounding good to win so I wasn't that disappointed but then.....they said, "this prize is a $25 gift certificate to Olive Garden". Well, forget the garmin, wolf gang puck knives , golf balls or quesadilla maker....my hand shot up in nothing flat at the chance to win another $25 gift certificate to O.G! So, without hesitation, I yelled, "me, me, I want it!" The guardian's of the number's pot gave a little laugh and said, "you didn't win, we haven't called a number yet".
They stuck their hand in the pot.
They pulled out the number.
They read the number out loud.
AND
IT WAS MY NUMBER!!!!!!
Yep! Can you believe it?
It was pure fate!
A whoosh went up in the crowd and everyone in the room witnessed lightening striking smack dab into my own little space! HAPPY DANCE FOR ME!
Oh, the joy!
Speaking of lighting, we then went out into the hall of the hotel where the convention was held and there on the wall's were wonderful pictures and stories of the history of St. George........
You won't believe this one.....
DID YOU KNOW?...... President Brigham Young went down to St. George to see the new LDS Temple that had just been completed and said it was beautiful accept for one thing..."the spire was too squatty" "take that one off and build a new taller one". Well, the saints were tired and when the prophet left town they all agreed that "the one on the temple was good enough". They didn't change the spire.
After Pres. Brigham Young died a year later, lightening struck the temple on the spire and burned it off completely.......the saints rebuilt the spire taller and that is the one that is on the temple today! .....I"M JUST SAYIN"?
Ahhh, yes my dear friends, lightening may only strike once but whether it's Olive Garden or Temple's, apparently, that's all it takes!!!!!!
(and p.s.......don't mess with the prophet!)
