IT'S HERE!!!! Get those Trumpets out!!!

YES, one and all, it came today! "Finally" (as Sam put it) and then we had to wait from 10am when I grabbed it out of the mailbox and then text Sam at work, until 8 pm to open it because of all of the family to be present (here and on the phones)!

When he opened the envelope he started reading the booklet, not the letter, but soon, through his shaking hands, he found the letter and let out a giant "oh! oh my gosh"! It was priceless and yes, we do have it on video!

Sam is going to THE CLAM ~ The California Los Angeles Mission, Spanish Speaking!

WOW~ that is a mouth full!

His is thrilled, we are thrilled and now we will join in with the other newly made missionary parents on the sprint to get him ready by Dec. 31, 2008. Yes, my dear ones, he will be moving into the Provo MTC in a mere 81 days! We won't worry about the Holidays or the new babies to be born across country during those next 81 days right now, we will just focus on the here and now! We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful son who will dedicate his life to the Lord for 2 years of his life. We felt the blessings when Brett served a mission in Independence MO and now we will get to have Sam out serving in the field too. I just can't believe it sometimes. How does Heavenly Father know our hearts so well? Sam said that if he stayed state side, that CA would be the one place that he would choose to serve. I think he will have plenty of "foreign" experiences since there are several languages spoken in this mission and Layton has already warned me more than once that he will be in some dangerous places but that he will be protected and he will have an incredible mission. I know he will!

Ahh, I feel Heleman's stripling warrior song coming on already. Sam will be a great missionary !

Way to go SAM. We are very excited for you. Missionary work is the BEST. I know you will make your family and friends very proud (good pride you know - is there such a thing? - oh well). We would love to make a contribution, shall we say $1000. just kidding what do you think I am rich or something. Really we want to help, so just make sure you hold out your hand on the Sunday when you speak in Sac. mtg and there might be a suprise (of course you must invite us to come here you speak or otherwise your hand will be empty. What a GREAT FAMILY you have. We are so blessed to know each of you.
