On Friday, Sept 19 2008, while thinking of Daniel, or in other words, in honor of his birthday, Layton and I were flipping and serving hamburgers and buffalo stew (with several other people)at the annual Balloon Festival on Antelope Island here on the Great Salt Lake

in service of the Layton Rotary Club! We made quite a signifiacant amount of money for the community too so it was well worth the effort. I'm just sorry to say that Layton was behind the camera and not in any of these pictures. However, he was interviewed on Fox 13 news but unfortunately he was deleted out of his big debut and only shown for a mere 1/2 second before a commercial. We TVOed it though so if you are interested in seeing his short lived fame, give us a call!

As we were just getting the hang of it, this line was managable until Layton started cooking the burgers and then the people FLOCKED to the smell! There were "herds" of people who wanted to try the buffalo stew and chomp on hamburgers and beans and coleslaw and potato salad and churros! Even though the wind kicked up, at least it kept the bugs way down, almost nill! That's a good thing!
"Causway the Buffalo" paused to pose with me in the wind!

The end of a 4 hour tour of duty deserves a little singin' and dancin' since we ran completely out of food for the night!!! Yea! WE served a ton of people that night just at our booth alone. We were exhausted and smelled like the cookout that we manned but we had a good time. So, we hope you had as much fun on your birthday as we did Danny Boy! Happy Birthday Daniel!

I am so excited I found your blog. It has been years since I have seen your cute family. I can't believe that Sara is a senior. Wow. I remember when I babysat her when she was only like 5 days old. Time sure flies. I'm so glad to see you are all doing well and you look great as ever.

HAHA! Looks like you guys had fun.... but probably not as much fun as we did at jerry! ;o) jk, but seriously mom, good job
It's me again. I found you through Brooke Matthews. I was so glad I did. We are all doing really good. Hayley's in Pocatello with 4 kids, ages 8, 6, 4 & 1, Darren is in Syracuse with 4 kids, 7, 5, almost 3 & 2 months & Nate is in Evanston with 4 kids, 9, 7, 4 & almost 3. My mom and dad are doing great too, with 15 grandkids under the age of 10 how couldn't they be. But that's what you get when you have 4 kids in 3 1/2 years. You get grandkids quick. I told my mom I found your blog tonight when I was on the phone with her and she said she was gonna have to get on and check it out. She was excited. Tell your family hi for me. Lindsey
